What is Discipleship?
"To learn what the teacher knows and do what the teacher does." This is the motto of discipleship, regardless of whether you're learning to hang drywall, program computers, play the piano, or throw a curveball. Those who know more pass on information, skills, and wisdom to those who know less. That's the way it goes, and the better the teacher, the better the student - provided the student has the desire, skills, and commitment to learn. In our context, discipleship refers to the process of becoming more like Jesus. We believe he's the best teacher possible and that he gives us the clearest picture of life as it's intended to be lived. He calls us - every last one of us - to follow him: to learn what he knows and do what he does.
Simply put, we're here to help you do that very thing: to sit in the classroom of Christ. We do this principally through our Community Groups, which are "learning communities." The learning that occurs here is so much more than learning facts. It's about learning how to love God and love people - all that matters most in this life. It's about learning not just with the mind but with the heart and body. It's about putting flesh and bones on our beliefs, so that in the passage of time we begin to resemble the one we profess to follow. Below are a few ways that you can learn more about becoming a disciple of Jesus.

Newcomers' Pizza:
We offer a Newcomers Pizza bi-monthly after the last service on Sunday (in the Teen Room). This is an opportunity for leaders in the church and newcomers to sit down together for a meal. Over the course of a relaxing hour you’ll hear more about who we are and what we value. We also take time to hear the questions that you as newcomers bring. They’re important to us. So come, meet others who are brand new, and enjoy a free meal on us. (Childcare provided)
Vineyard 101:
We offer Vineyard 101 bi-monthly after the last service on Sunday (in the Teen Room). Consider this the next step after Newcomers Pizza. Enjoy a free meal while we discuss together the nature of discipleship, what it means to be a member of the Northern Kentucky Vineyard, and how you begin your first steps with us.

We believe this is a very powerful and significant moment in the life of a Christian. You will see announcements for upcoming baptisms listed in our program. Please sign up for these. A class will be held that day in preparation for this sacred and ancient practice.
